HJ/DJ Sig Rune Patch

Posted in Armbands & Patches with tags , , , on January 10, 2016 by The Dude

Flag_of_the_NSDAP_(1920–1945).svgHere’s a nice example of the humble HJ/DJ Sig Rune sleeve patch. Called the Armscheiben des DJ, it was issued to DJ members who has passed the basic membership tests and the rune color indicates the Oberbann, in this case Oberbann 1. This one is undressed and still has its RZM tag on the rear.

21st Army Group Shoulder Flash

Posted in Armbands & Patches with tags , on October 19, 2014 by The Dude

Flag_of_the_United_KingdomThis is the WW2 period shoulder flash for 21st Army Group. I would say that I have an irrational fondness for some high level Allied formations, 14th Army under Slim, XXX Corps under Horrocks and 21 AG under Montgomery. I don’t know why except perhaps they were all successful and fought at the winning end of WW2.

Burma Star Association Blazer Patch

Posted in Armbands & Patches with tags , , on October 19, 2014 by The Dude

Flag_of_the_United_KingdomThe Burma Star Association is a comradeship and welfare organization formed in 1951 and composed almost exclusively of veterans of the campaign in Burma in WW2. In fact to join one must have been awarded the Burma Star. The organization is led by the son of General William Slim, the commander of that campaign. This is an obviously used blazer patch for this organization.

Flag_of_the_NSDAP_(1920–1945).svgThis is a stock standard four piece stitched HJ armband. Not terribly exciting but on the other hand if you are excited by Nazi shit you shouldn’t really be allowed on the internets eh?
